1. What products do you use?

I use products from a variety of different brands - Chanel, Clinique, Bobbi Brown, smashbox, Lancome etc. I also use products from professional brands such as Face Atelier and Make Up For Ever. I use only those products that I have found to be the best.

I have a large variety of professional synthetic and natural hair make-up brushes which are cleaned after each client. I uphold strict hygiene practices and use disposable applicators where necessary.

2. When should I have a trial?

You can have your trial as soon as you have decided on your dress, colour scheme and other details that are important to you about your wedding. Having your trial as soon as you have decided to have a make-up artist ensures that you are happy with your booking and means it's another thing ticked off your list. However, if you would prefer to do so, you can have your trial nearer to your wedding but I would recommend leaving it no later than 6 weeks before.

3. Do you do hair styling?

I do not do hair, but depending on your location I may be able to provide you with details of hair dressers that you could contact.

4. Can I come to you?

Due to insurance reasons I am unable to offer customers treatments in my home, however, I am fully insured when visiting customers in their homes.

5. Why do I need a make-up artist on my wedding day?

Here's a few of the reasons why people get a make-up artist for their wedding. If any of these apply to you, then it's probably worth having a make-up artist.

  • You are unsure what colours to use and how best to apply make-up for the photography
  • You want the make-up to last all day
  • You would be too nervous on the morning of the wedding to apply your make-up
  • You would like to be pampered on the morning of the wedding

6. Do you sell the make-up that you use?

No, I'm completely independent but at your trial I can let you know what lipstick/gloss I used so you could go to the shops to buy it for topping up on your wedding day.

7. Do you have insurance?

Yes. I am fully insured with Professional Beauty Direct. This insurance covers me both at your home and at your venue, or wherever else you are getting ready.

8. How long will the make-up last for?

I use products that I have tested for longevity and I use application techniques that will ensure your make-up lasts well throughout the day and evening but minor touch-ups might be needed. You may also like to purchase and carry a lipstick/gloss and a powder compact or blotting tissues, but I will discuss this with you at your trial.

9. What happens at the trial?

Your trial/consultation lasts around 2 hours. First we will discuss the details of your wedding - dresses, hair, flowers, theme etc. We will also discuss what make-up, if any, you normally wear. We will discuss any ideas we both have and then I'd try out a look that we will have talked about. We can tweak the look until you are 100% confident with your make-up.

If your bridesmaids, mother or any other guests would like a trial they should have theirs at the same appointment otherwise the first person (bride) rate will be charged at a separate appointment. Allow an hour for each extra person at the trial.

At the trial if you would like to book my services for your wedding day I will require a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total on the day cost to secure your wedding date.

10. What happens on the day?

I will arrive in plenty of time to set-up so I am ready to start the first person promptly. The timings of your wedding day make-up will be carefully planned in advance to ensure everyone is ready in good time.

Make-up is generally applied after the hair has been styled and I prefer to work on bridesmaids, mums etc first before the bride so the bride is as fresh as possible for the ceremony.

Your bridal or special occasion make-up will take up to an hour and each other person will take around 30 to 45 minutes, but this will be discussed with you well in advance of the occasion.

11. Do you accept credit cards?

Due to the high cost of processing debit and credit card transactions, I have had to cease routinely accepting card payments. If you wish to pay for your appointment by card, please let me know in advance and I will issue you with an invoice with a link to pay via Google Checkout. The invoice will include a surcharge to cover processing fees. Google Checkout accepts all major debit and credit cards. Payment must be received no later than three days before your appointment.
